The "Cloud Knights" team, consisting of university students Ali Gaffar Toksoy from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Kaan Yavuz from Maltepe University, and Furkan Yiğit from Kayseri University, has developed the "Pregnancy and Postpartum Assistant Project," aimed at simplifying the lives of women during and after pregnancy.
Project leader Ali Toksoy provided insights about the system and the award they received. He explained that the project originated from a coding marathon organized by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority and Huawei Turkey, focusing on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals related to "Health and Well-Being." The team decided to focus on pregnancy challenges due to personal experiences of difficult pregnancies in their circle.
Using artificial intelligence, they aimed to create solutions for the issues faced during pregnancy and postpartum. They conducted discussions with women in their environment, reviewed publications from the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization, and studied related articles and research.
The project includes a chatbot platform that offers personalized health recommendations to support maternal and child health, aiming to monitor healthy pregnancies and child development while early detecting potential health issues.
Accessible via Internet and Mobile Application
According to Toksoy, the assistant can be utilized as an internet and mobile application if investment is secured. The system is segmented into four sections: for expectant mothers, new mothers (0-1 year), children (1-5 years), and fathers. It allows users to input personal data like age and medical history to receive quick solutions to their concerns.
Toksoy stressed that the assistant would be available for free, and they plan to collaborate with TÜBİTAK and firms focusing on health to enhance its features based on users' specific needs, noting their first place win at the coding marathon by BTK and Huawei Turkey.
