New Era in Healthcare: TİTCK Launches AI-Supported e-Inspection System

The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) is set to implement an AI-supported electronic inspection system (e-Inspection) as part of healthcare reform efforts, following the successful deployment of the Electronic Prescription System (REÇETEM), Drug Tracking System (ITS), and Product Tracking System (ÜTS). This innovative system aims to enhance regulation and supervision over pharmaceuticals, medical devices, special dietary foods, biocidal, and cosmetic products.

The introduction of e-Inspection will streamline operational processes, minimize manual tasks, and ensure quicker inspections, enabling prompt intervention in public health risks.

Efficient and Effective Inspections with AI

Slated for testing in the coming months, the e-Inspection system will automate routine inspections through artificial intelligence, allowing inspectors to focus on complex, strategic duties. This will lead to a more effective, efficient, and reliable inspection process.

With AI’s learning capabilities, errors will be identified earlier, facilitating rapid resolution of potential issues. The analysis of electronically collected data will become more manageable, enabling quick detection of trends, anomalies, and possible problems through data analytics.

Integration with Drug Tracking and e-Health Systems

The e-Inspection system will provide authorities and inspectors access to data from any location, allowing real-time monitoring of inspection outcomes and processes. Inspectors can conduct remote assessments when necessary.

This system will enable continuous oversight and swift intervention in drugs and medical devices and can be integrated with mobile devices as well. The introduction of electronic inspections will also reduce paper use and save costs.

Plans include integrating the AI-supported e-Inspection system with REÇETEM, ITS, ÜTS, the Electronic Process Management System, and e-Health records. Additionally, the software developed for the system will ensure top-level security, addressing data safety, privacy, protection against cyber threats, and prevention of data loss.
